Martha Stewart the Private Label Queen

Shes Americas home decorating guru. Shes also the queen of
private label at Kmart, where the Martha Stewart Everday brand
now appears on some 4,500 SKUs - not counting live plants.
Martha Stewart and Kmart are in for the long haul. They
recently inked an agreement extending their partnership to 2008,
with an option to extend that to 2013. Meanwhile, Kmart was
rolling out a line of kitchen storage items called Keeping under
the MSE banner. A picnicware line had already been introduced
this spring.
Craft and holiday lines are planned for next year, joining
the thousands of MSE products that range from bed, bath and
kitchen domestics to cookware, paint, patio furniture and poison-
free insecticides. Kmart has grossed about $5.5 billion from
Martha Stewart products over the years, and expects to rake in
$1.6 billion this year. Zellers carries most of the same items
in Canada.
